Optical coherence tomography and disease subtype in multiple sclerosis

summary: The authors used OCT, a technique which uses light to examine the thickness of the retina at the back of the eye, to examine a large group of people with MS. They found differences in the subtypes, even if they had never had optic neuritis. OCT looks promising as a non-invasive way of measuring axonal loss.
