Transplanted neural precursors enhance host brain-derived myelin regeneration

summary: In MS, a chronic demyelinating disease of the central nervous system, the cells in charge of promoting the formation of new myelin in regions where myelin has been damaged fail to produce this remyelination. In this study the authors found that the transplantation of neural precursor cells, (cells that are due to become neural cells) into the brains of mice with the animal model of MS can facilitate remyelination in their brains.
