In September 2001 the Scientific Programs Committee of MSIF’s International Medical and Scientific Board (IMSB) approved an application for Du Pré Grants to cover the travel costs of eight named trainees participating in the Genetic Analysis of Multiple sclerosis in EuropeanS (GAMES) project www-gene.cimr.cam.ac.uk

Each of the eight trainees (from Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Sweden) provided genetic samples from people with MS in their own country and undertook training in techniques to advance the understanding of genetic susceptibility to MS.
