Nominations for our 2013 McDonald fellowships and second round Du Pré Grants for research into MS are open. The deadline for nominations is 30 June 2013.
The McDonald Fellowships (named after renowned MS researcher Prof Ian McDonald, pictured) enable young researchers from emerging countries to work with the world’s leading researchers in MS with a view to returning to their own countries to establish a programme of MS research that involves the application of the newly learned techniques. This is a 2-year fellowship, with an award of £30,000 per annum to the candidate and an additional sum of £2,000 awarded to the host institute. Further information can be found at www.msif.org/mcdonald
The Du Pré Grants are offered to young researchers, mainly from emerging countries, to enable them to undertake short visits to other MS research centres, either to learn more from each other or to carry out parts of joint research projects. The aim is to encourage cross-fertilisation of skills through collaborative research projects. Each grant is likely to be between UK £2,000 and £5,000.
