MSIF China consultants visit Institute of Neurology and UK MS Society

In January 2013, MSIF’s consultants Daniel Alberman and Clare Pan attended a series of meetings at the MSIF Secretariat to report back on MSIF’s capacity-building work in China to date and to identify the best way forward for the emerging MS groups in the country in the coming years.

As part of their visit, they visited the Institute of Neurology (ION), the UK MS Society Head Office and the Society’s Bromley Branch. Daniel and Clare met with individuals with MS, health professionals working in the MS field and MS Society staff. They were joined by members of the MSIF Secretariat.

The visits enabled them to learn more about the ION’s work and to better understand how an established MS Society works, the relationship it has with its branches and the support and services the branch network provides to people affected by MS at the local level.
