Students at a Tokyo school who took part in the Japan MS Society’s World MS Day activities this year were rewarded with a live music performance from a talented singer who lives with MS.

Upon discovering that 23 pupils from Futaba Junior High School had worked with the Society to raise public awareness of MS on World MS Day, Keiko, a singer with MS, prepared a special concert in the school gymnasium to show her appreciation. Keiko, who is committed to raising awareness of MS through her concerts, was accompanied onstage by pianist and composer Mitsuru. Together they performed a number of moving, inspiring songs.

During the event, pupils who took part in World MS Day gave a special presentation about MS and their experiences on World MS Day to their fellow classmates, helping to raise greater awareness and understanding of MS among young people.

George Nakajima, General Secretary of the Japan MS Society, said the concert was “very successful” and extended his thanks to Keiko and Mitsuru. “Pupils, parents, and teachers were all very touched by the concert”, he added.
