MSIF is pleased to share that Abdelfatah Ibrahim, Head of Communications, Campaigns and Advocacy at MSIF, has been appointed Chair of OneNeurology.

OneNeurology brings together global neurological organisations to strengthen collaboration, increase visibility for neurological conditions, and advance shared policy priorities. The network works to ensure that brain health is recognised within wider global health agendas, including at the World Health Organization and the United Nations.

The official partners of the partnership include the founding organisations European Federation of Neurological Associations and European Academy of Neurology, alongside global partners such as Alzheimer’s Disease International, World Stroke Organization, World Sleep Society, European Brain Council, World Federation for NeuroRehabilitation, Women’s Brain Project, European Paediatric Neurology Society, International Neuropalliative Care Society, Confederation of Meningitis Organisations, International Headache Society and International Bureau for Epilepsy. These organisations play a central role in shaping the partnership’s governance and strategic direction.

In 2025, MSIF worked closely with OneNeurology to increase the visibility of neurological conditions in global policy spaces. Together with partners, MSIF co-signed joint statements to the WHO Executive Board and the World Health Assembly calling for stronger recognition of neurological conditions within non-communicable disease frameworks. MSIF also contributed to coordinated advocacy around the UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs and supported shared messaging on brain health and access to care. This collaboration strengthened the profile of MS within broader neurology discussions and positioned MSIF as an active coalition partner.

Abdelfatah Ibrahim said:

‘It is an honour to chair OneNeurology at a time when neurological conditions are gaining greater recognition within global health policy. Multiple sclerosis is part of a much wider brain health conversation. By working together across the neurology community, we can strengthen our collective voice and improve access to diagnosis, treatment and care for people affected by neurological conditions worldwide.’

Chairing OneNeurology strengthens MSIF’s leadership within the global neurology community. It creates new opportunities to help shape the agenda on brain health, ensure that multiple sclerosis is represented clearly within wider discussions, and advance shared priorities on access, diagnosis and care.

MSIF looks forward to continuing to work with partners across the movement to improve access to diagnosis, treatment and support for people affected by MS worldwide.
