The May 50K is a virtual challenge where participants roll, walk or run 50 kilometres throughout the month of May, to raise vital funds for people affected by MS. Wherever you live, whatever your fitness levels, participants decide when and where to complete The May 50K.

This year the challenge is bigger than ever, with Multiple Sclerosis South Africa (MSSA) joining the team, alongside returning MSIF member organisations: MS Society (UK), MS Ireland, Deutsche Multiple Sklerose Gesellschaft (Germany), and Stichting MS Research (Netherlands). Together, we are making an even bigger impact.

There is no stopping the May 50K community! This year challenge participants have come together in new and creative ways such as:

  • Counting steps from a cruise across Europe.
  • Naming a cheese in honour of The May 50K for sponsorship in the Netherlands
  • Clocking kilometres from a special birthday trip to Vietnam

The inventive ways people have embraced fundraising is inspiring. We are grateful that so many people around the world are stepping up to the challenge.

Thursday 15 May is Halfway Day – the midpoint of this incredible challenge! With over 10,000 people around the world taking part and leaving their limits behind for this year, we are thrilled to announce the collective total raised so far is over £600,000!

These vital funds support both national MS projects in participating countries and global MS initiatives. Halfway Day is more than a milestone – it’s a moment to celebrate how far we’ve come and to rally for the journey ahead.

Let’s keep the momentum going. Whether you’re rolling, walking, running or cheering others on– every step counts.

Support The May 50K community as they log those kilometres and fundraise for a future without MS here. You can also follow The May 50K on our Facebook page and Instagram account.
