MSIF teamed up with the Danish MS Society this year to organise a new and unique charity cycling challenge: Cykelnerven.

Daniel Magson, MSIF’s Fundraising Campaigns Manager, travelled to the Pyrenees to support a team of intrepid cyclists taking on this novel fundraising challenge, which covers the toughest climbs of the Tour De France route.

‘My favourite climb was the famous Tourmalet and Col du Soulor’, said Daniel. ‘This is 17.5km of constant climb up 2,115 metres, with, at most, a 10% incline. What awaits at the top is breath-taking.’

‘The following day, we even climbed a mountain alongside Team Sky. One of our cyclists summed it up perfectly when he said, ‘for me, the trip was the realisation of a dream I have had since I was a teenager watching the Tour de France, hoping to one day ride at the very same place’.

Cykelnerven is Danish for ‘the nerve to ride’. This unique, custom cycling experience covers 355km of the famous Tour de France mountains, just a few weeks before the professionals take to the slopes for the Tour De France.
